Top 10 Best Interiors of 2014: Volkswagen GTI

Not a GTE, but close enough, VW made it!

Quote:

Taking sport to a whole new level is the seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI, which will go on sale this year in the U.S. Bright red stitching contrasts the dark accessories such as the steering wheel and shift boot while brushed metallic accents assures this is German engineering at work. The user-friendly touchscreen delivers all the important information a driver needs while those really looking for something different can opt for the plaid-seat inserts seen above.

I am glad that the Golf GTI is getting attention for its interior, but I don't understand why everyone is crazy about the patterned seats. The tartan just doesn't look good to me at all. I'm guessing you can get it without the tartan pattern.

I like the rest of the interior though. The center stack looks great.

I'm assuming you mean plaid or tartan. That pattern definitely isn't checkers.

Are you guys fans of that pattern on the seats? I know that i'll be opting for an interior without the pattern. I'm surprised that people like it so much.

Tartan

Plaid

Very similar patterns but they are a bit different.

Tartan fits more with Christmas or Scotland. Think of a kilt.

From wikipedia:

Quote:
Tartan is often called plaid in North America, but in Scotland, a plaid is a tartan cloth slung over the shoulder as a kilt accessory, or a plain ordinary blanket such as one would have on a bed.
Its a grey area I guess.

Anyway, plaid or tartan, I don't want either one on my seats. I think that it makes the car look cheap.

Or just swap in seats from an Audi.

Kidding, that will cost an arm or leg, or both

one thing is that the VW jetta top trim had a very nice interior

As nice as the A4

I'm not too sure about the GTI vs the A3.
