VW Polo GTE Could Launch in 2015
VW is releasing another eco-friendly model, and it should be out in 2015. The VW Polo GTE is going to be the first plug-in hybrid of a city-friendly size.
The VW Polo GTE will have a liquid-cooled lithium battery will be fitted under the rear seats and in the place of the spae wheel, providing about 8 kWh of juice on a charge. The batter should add about 120 kilograms to the weight of the car.
The electric motor will have the same 60 kW / 82 PS as it does in the e-Up!. The Polo GTE should go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and fuel economy figures will be in the region of 2L/100km.
No price yet, but remember that you will probably get a government subsidy depending on where you live.
