The GTE Button= MOAR POWWAAA

I think this is how the GTE should be driven ALL the time. Sure economy is great but a kick in the pants is better

Mash that little bugger and the TSI powerplant is constantly in play complete with healthy doses of electric torque, plus the steering becomes weightier.

Even better though is the B mode which has all the benefits of the GTE button, however what it does is ramp up up the electric motors regenerative efforts, which means the generators are actually slowing the car not the brakes. I believe you can actually configure how much recapture you want. Whats nice is that the recapture will scrub speed and then when you get back into it on the far side of the apex all your scrubbed speed is ready to play more as the GTE fills back in the torque with recaptured energy...

I think that is very cool...

It's good to see they still want to keep these fun and give us the option to really push it with this. I know I will be making use of that button

It sounds great and I'm sure that experiencing it first hand will be even more fun. Electric mode in the city and GTE mode on the highway. Although the "GTE mode all day everyday" is a much better tag line.

no its either or with the GTE button off, so it works like a normal hybrid. With GTE pressed the petrol engine is on full time using the electric power as torque fill, in B mode it ramps up battery regeneration...

Interesting, I thought it would have an option for a full Electric mode but it's really just like a hybrid.

well all electric mode you can get 31 miles out of it, or travel up to 81 mph in all electric mode. Its once you surpass your range or your speed that the petrol will kick in. Its only when you click GTE that it becomes a cooporative hybrid...
